You Can Help Ban FOIE GRAS CRUELTY in New York City!

To produce foie gras (French for "fatty liver"; pronounced 'fwah grah'), ducks and geese are force-fed enormous quantities of food multiple times a day, causing their livers to swell up to 10 times their normal size. The birds have difficulty standing, walking and even breathing, and many die during the grueling force-feeding process.

Over a dozen nations, the State of California and the City of Chicago have outlawed this egregiously cruel practice — it is time that New York City does as well!

BE A PART OF THIS HISTORIC MOVEMENT!

1. Help Counter The Foie Gras Industry's Pressure On The New York City Council!
The wealthy and powerful foie gras industry and restaurant association are actively working to prevent a foie gras sales ban in NYC, and the speaker of the New York City Council, Christine Quinn, is shamefully pressuring City Council members to oppose such humane legislation. It is critical that we counter the foie gras industry's efforts and contact lawmakers in New York City! Read Farm Sanctuary's reply to Speaker Quinn.
