Show Fairway the Foie Gras Facts

While the summer heat may be oppressive, our discomfort is minimal compared to that of ducks confined in foie gras facilities and force-fed several times a day. Fairway Market still has not removed foie gras from their shelves, in spite of hundreds of requests from their customers to do so. The next step is to show them the process through video, a sight which may shock many more people into speaking out. We need volunteers to wear the new body cam, hold the banner and signs, pass out leaflets, and talk to interested passersby. If you have a car, and would like to help transport the body cam, please let us know! Your presence could bring us a little closer to banning this cruelty forever.

Event: Leafleting to end the sale of foie gras

Date and Time: Sunday, Aug. 12, 2-4 p.m.

Location: Fairway Market, on Broadway between 74th and 75th Streets.

To volunteer, please contact Joy Askew at jaskew96@aol.com or 212-663-0802. Hope to see you there!

Farm Sanctuary is the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization. Since incorporating in 1986, we have worked to expose and stop cruel practices of the “food animal” industry through research and investigations, legal and legislative actions, public awareness projects, youth education, and direct rescue and refuge efforts. Our shelters in Watkins Glen, NY and Orland, CA provide lifelong care for hundreds of rescued animals, who have become ambassadors for farm animals everywhere by educating visitors about the realities of factory farming.
